TITLES, FIESTA (THE SUN ALSO RISES)
“Everyone behaves badly--given the chance.”
The Sun Also Rises paints a characture of what Ernest Hemingway considered the "Lost Generation," American youth who struggled to self identify after World War 1. Through these titles I seek to reflect themes of women's liberation, loss of masculinity, and alcoholism, through the lens of a 1920's worldview. I chose an aesthetic characteristic of silent film - monotone color scheme and curly fonts clarify the time period of the piece. Female empowerment is an important narrative element.
